Virtual Reality Live Online Training in Project Management with students from the sixth grade

Finally! We made it. The students and teachers have now successfully completed the first live training in a virtual training room from Saarbrücken to the Waldschule Hatten and the Ernst-Reuter School in Karlsruhe. The Grande Finale on June 5, 2019 in which the pupils‘ trainers trained by the Saarbrücken training company ALVISSION made a great live contribution with their PM lessons. The partner schools in Hatten (Lower Saxony) and Karlsruhe (Baden-Württemberg) had up to 28 pupils live in the training. There were a limited number of VR headsets, i.e. VR glasses at the schools, but the students were still able to enter the virtual training room via the desktop version of the #CADexplorer by #Hololux.

The worldwide unique community project in which students between 11-12 years of the community school Bellevue were trained as Virtual Reality Junior Trainers and PM student trainers was supported by the first German chapter, the World Association for Project Management PMI, the PMI Frankfurt Chapter, the Hololux GmbH (VR Software) in Saarbrücken, the project initiator and sponsor, the ALVISSION Training GmbH Saarbrücken and of course the community school Bellevue in Saarbrücken/Saarland/Germany.

It was a great cooperation with the students and teachers Torsten Becker and Christian Fest and the project could be finished successfully on June 12th.

It shows once again how innovation, digitisation and project work in the education sector can be successfully implemented through the cooperation of the right actors and the commitment of teachers, pupils and experts from the private sector. Excellent idea! – JUST DO IT – is the motto here.

What was the recipe for success for the project? High motivation of the direct participants, uncomplicated organization by the teachers, fun learning with innovative solutions and the provision of the digital infrastructure, VR headsets, VR software, as well as the high motivation of the training experts to promote a local school project. And this with regional expertise and companies with international experience.
