Oracle opens Industry Lab for AR training and education

On Tuesday, Taqtile entered a strategic partnership with Oracle to establish a Chicago-based facility that provides hands-on augmented reality (AR) simulation training for trainee frontline workers, customers, and enterprise partners.

The Oracle Industry Lab opened for attendees to experiment with immersive collaboration products from the Seattle, Washington-based firm. The lab provides multiple technologies from Taqtile such as Manifest, its AR immersive remote guidance platform.

The Vice President of Sales and Strategic Partnerships at Taqtile, Joe Clukey, said,

“The Oracle Industry Lab provides an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate with enterprise customers and explore new use cases and implementation scenarios for Manifest. Leveraging the power of the Manifest system with proven benefits of Oracle Database technology will deliver advanced functionality to our customers, such as the creation of work order systems that seamlessly sync between technicians in the field and headquarters”

Manifest integrates content and tools such as AR visualisations, real-world overlays, step-by-step videos, and holographic real-time 3D (RT3D) assets and others to assist industry operations.

Its remote guidance platform functions across large workforces to connect frontline workers with local or international technicians and trainers.

On-Site Features

Oracle Industry Lab visitors can try Taqtile’s immersive technologies, providing a space for the public to learn about Industry 4.0 solutions as well as focusing on utilities, construction, engineering, communications, and manufacturing vertical markets.

Burcin Kaplanoglu, the Vice President of Oracle Industry Labs, added,

We built the Chicago lab to bring together leading innovators like Taqtile so we can jointly help customers shape bold ideas into powerful solutions that improve productivity, operational intelligence, and sustainability”

The 30,000-square-foot Chicago lab also features solutions directly from Oracle’s portfolio of products. Additionally, telecommunications firm Verizon supplies the institution with Ultra-Wideband connectivity that improves streaming across on-site devices. Additional technology partners include EDX Technologies, ESRI, OpenSpace, and Mitsibushi Electronics.

Oracles Tech Portfolio

Oracle provides businesses with cloud-based applications and technology infrastructures that improve remote communication and collaboration.

The firm’s cloud-based application hub incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) systems to enhance enterprise and customer-facing communications.

The hub also features a toolkit to improve enterprise-grade processes and customer experiences with immersive technologies like IoT data and blockchain services. Oracle also provides an infrastructure network for the secure management of its company-wide, cloud-based products.
