Many might dismiss the metaverse as temporary hype, but Dr. Dietmar Lass, senior research manager at the Fraunhofer ICT Alliance, is convinced, „The metaverse is more than a hype. It will come, however and to whatever extent.“ Large companies such as Siemens Energy, BASF, Kawasaki Robotics, SAP, ABBand Rockwell Automation are already experimenting with it and using the technology, for example, to set up virtual labs, plan maintenance operations or build agile robot factories.
However, not only large companies should benefit from the advantages of Metaverse, but also SMEs.
