Interplay Learning announced a strategic partnership with Peterman Brothers to scale international training operations

Today, Interplay Learning announced a strategic partnership with Peterman Brothers’ Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical divisions to distribute immersive learning services to ten Peterman service branches and their workers.

The move sees more than 250 Peterman technicians leverage the XR training solution to improve technical skills, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and drain-clearing procedures. Interplay Learning will deliver immersive learning modules via interactive 3D assets and VR simulations.

Chad Peterman, the President of Peterman Brothers, added:

We are excited to partner with Interplay Learning to provide our new and seasoned technicians with a powerful and robust career development platform that meaningfully develops their careers.

The Interplay Learning partnership supports Peterman Brothers “in streamlining and growing our operations across our branches,” noted Chad Peterman, who explained that the partnership improves “upward mobility for our workforce while better serving our valued customers.”

Using XR to Scale International Operations

The partnership aims to leverage XR to accelerate new branches’ acquisition, integration, and growth at a “pivotal time”, according to Peterman Brothers, which notes how it plans to scale its operations and technical training efforts via its immersive learning initiative.

The company utilizes Interplay Learning’s vast library of XR training to improve knowledge sharing and international training by simulating real-world job scenarios in a safe and controlled immersive environment, helping employees develop reliable troubleshooting skills without endangering themselves or their customers.

Doug Donovan, CEO and founder of Interplay Learning, explained that the firm plans to, alongside the Peterman Brothers company, “boost acquisition success and provide their valued workforce with targeted skills and knowledge they need to thrive in their careers.”

Peterman Brothers’ worldwide branches will leverage Interplay Learning’s training library to solve associated capital and capacity hurdles, allowing many workers to access high-quality XR training modules regardless of user location.

Andrew Hasty, Director of Learning and Development, also added:

We’re strategically aligning Interplay’s platform to our paths of progression and career development initiatives. Our goal is to identify learning gaps and provide targeted interventions that support each technician’s unique journey. Interplay’s all-in-one platform allows us to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide scaffolded support to meet techs where they are to help them succeed.

The Peterman Brothers/Interplay Learning comes as immersive training solutions start finding a typical home in various industries and institutions.

Recently, the National Rail hosted VR training for roughly 1,000 students, and NVIDIA Omniverse is quickly becoming a fixation in industrial sectors. The training sector is a long-running leading user case for XR enterprise solutions, and appears more and more companies are joining the rocket ship.
