The deal aims to boost PLM processes for businesses entering their digital transformations
Remote connectivity and workplace tech provider TeamViewer announced on Tuesday it had opened a strategic partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software.
The new alliance will allow the former to integrate Frontline, its augmented reality (AR) platform, with Siemens’ product lifecycle management (PLM) Teamcenter software.
The Goppingen, Germany-based firm’s collaborative effort with Siemens will offer improved product development processes via immersive and interactive 3D content with bespoke, digitally-twinned products.
Siemens created the latter solution from its Xcelerator portfolio, and the collaborative effort aims to boost innovation and improve decisions for company products.
A Spatial module integration for TeamViewer’s Frontline AR platform provides workers with mixed reality (MR) smart glass real-time 3D (RT3D) and other digital assets for leading headsets, including Microsoft’s HoloLens series.
The platform provides digital overlays of RT3D assets to guide employees in processes, and owners can also update and manage workflows with an included no-code editor capable of adding digital assets.
Computer-aided design (CAD) and PLM technologies also seamlessly integrate into TeamViewer’s Frontline Spatial module to host AR-backed content without prior programming experience.

He concluded,

TeamViewer’s class-leading technologies in AR, artificial intelligence (AI), and the internet of things (IoT) allow companies remote access management for devices such as mobile phones, robots, and XR headsets, and boasts roughly 620,000 subscribers across multiple businesses and industries.
The news comes just a month after Siemens struck a similar deal with technology giant NVIDIA to deploy digital twins with the former’s ‘ Xcelerator platform and the latter’s Omniverse 3D design tool.
The partnership aims to reach similar goals of improving production and product lifecycles and host assets such as digital twins, IoT solutions, and analytics, using cloud and edge computing technologies.
