Several UK Universities will receive $5.7 million in funding from Innovate UK and the Office for Life Sciences for VR training in vaccinations and medicine.

The VR training, which is being developed by ‘The Resilience’ Centre, a renowned institution in the field of VR training in the UK, will be available to universities nationwide. This training will be led by Universities such as the University of Birmingham, ensuring the highest education and training standards.

Likewise, over one hundred fifty schools will have access to resources for using mixed reality, a combination of virtual and augmented reality, to create vaccinations. Similarly, these resources will also be leveraged in the NHS and the medicine industry.

All in all, this funding announcement and training center is a significant step in the development of virtual reality and life science development using VR. It comes at an interesting time for the integration of virtual reality in healthcare globally. The UK is stepping up to become a leader in the use of VR in healthcare.
