The British spatial data firm implements 5G technologies to create 3D solutions for enterprises

UK spatial data firm Urban Hawk is reshaping the workplace with a 5G spatial data network solution to digitise the interiors and exteriors of structures.

The Bristol-based firm hopes to empower enterprises with drone and satellite imagery to create real-time spatial data structures to support several key industries.

5G Technologies and the Polaron Voxel Engine

What makes Urban Hawk special is the firm’s adoption of 5G technologies, namely after it joined the 5G-Victori Association founded in mid-2019. The association is building 5G infrastructure across Europe using large-scale industrial trials in transport, energy, media, and manufacturing.

The news comes after Urban Hawk partnered with Nvidia earlier this year by adopting the DLSS framework aimed at developing its “Polaron Voxel Engine,” giving the former access to an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven developer platform with world-class performance and quality.

An Urban Base demo shows how the Polaron Voxel Engine can use AI and 3D spatial data to create real-time renders of an indoor space, highlighting how an engine can be used in a train station.

The demo revealed a fantastic example of how companies can integrate digital twins and 5G technology into everyday life, despite Urban Hawk’s spatial mapping portfolio suggesting further use cases.

Rober Sugar, Founder of Urban Hawk, explained how the partnership noted the importance of video game technology in today’s modern world.

In a official post, he commented,

“It is exciting to see Nvidia again supporting one of my businesses beyond the game development era”

The UK firm will be revealing maritime uses of spatial data, as well as further news and updates, at the Monaco Smart Yachting Marina event on September 20.
