Vuzix partners with SimplyVideo to enhance remote collaboration and skill sharing opportunities

This week, leading smart glasses vendor Vuzix announced an official partnership with SimplyVideo to enhance remote training capabilities.

The partnership allows M400 smart glasses users to leverage real-time video streaming to share their working environment and tasks with other experts for assistance.

Vuzix sees excellent value in the SimplyVideo integration for professionals in sectors such as healthcare, where smart glasses can help experts share knowledge based on video streams from anywhere in the world.

Vuzix is deploying the SimplyVideo-ready devices to customers that represent global leaders in providing medical equipment, scanning products, and services in a bid to learn about the challenges and benefits of smart glasses in the enterprise.

To ensure the success of the SimplyVideo M400 integration, Vuzix is undergoing a six-month pilot phase to test the device in a select few customer sites. During the trial of the solution, Vuzix plans to gather feedback from trainers and customers to refine the device for healthcare use.

The pilot period includes training sessions to assist with the product’s implementation across healthcare teams and remote experts. It also considers considerations for existing workplace digital tools like Teams.

Vuzix is working with an implementation team to assist with the onboarding and deployment period. According to Vuzix, the newly optimised smart glasses product offers benefits such as more extensive on-site training, reduced travel costs, more free time for workers, and improved productivity.

The new SimplyVideo integration includes high-definition video streaming, Microsoft Teams connections, low-latency communication, document sharing, real-time annotation tools, and encrypted connections.

Vuzix Shield Debut Enterprise

Vuzix has recently launched the Vuzix Shield smart safety glasses, designed as wearable AR devices for industrial and frontline working environments. The initial launch of AR technology was aimed at developers and researchers, but the product is now available to broader enterprise clients. The Vuzix Shield safety glasses are suitable for industries such as medicine, first responder, logistics, transport, field service, and inspection and are accessible through the Vuzix website.

The Vuzix Shield device is a pair of prescription-ready AR smart safety glasses that come with stereoscopic microLED (µLED) waveguide-based displays, ANSI Z87.1 safety certification, self-contained batteries, stereo HD cameras, stereo over-the-ear speakers, and noise-cancelling microphones.

This product supports voice input in 29 languages and includes AI support, which enables workers to enhance industrial workflows with new tools. The integrated HD cameras provide real-time feedback and increase environmental awareness through AI integration.

Last year, Vuzix announced the launch of INCOGNITO, an integrated technology for the company’s enterprise and frontline AR smart glasses portfolio. INCOGNITO improves Vuzix’s product performance by addressing common issues such as “forward eye glow” and light leakage, which can cause hazy visuals and disappearing content.

This enhancement is expected to improve the low-light optical performance and forward-light ratio of Vuzix’s smart glasses without impacting the product cost for its enterprise clients. To debut INCOGNITO, Vuzix deployed the technology to its customers in defence, industrial, enterprise, and consumer applications.
