The immersive and hardware software firm debuts new solutions to continue its expansion goals

Last Wednesday, RealWear, a leader in immersive industrial solutions, launched three new services RealWear Connect, App Marketplace, and Developer Toolkit, continuing the firm’s goals of becoming a fully-fledged digital solutions provider.

In August 2022, RealWear first marked its transition by introducing Cloud and Assistance, two services which expanded its portfolio from AR wearables to XR applications.

Rama Oruganti, Chief Product Officer, RealWear, noted that the new solutions enable the firm to advance its vision of “delivering a full productivity platform for frontline professionals” while supporting a growing immersive software ecosystem.

Oruganti also added:

Whether you are an IT professional looking to manage and deploy devices, a frontline professional looking for remote support, or a developer partner in need of tools to better manage your offering, our platform provides productivity solutions that are smart, easy to deploy, and flexible.

New RealWear Immersive Solutions

One of RealWear’s new offerings is Marketplace for immersive enterprise applications. The firm designed its digital storefront so RealWear headset users can easily manage and access first and immersive third-party services.

Via RealWear Marketplace, customers can now directly install applications the firm explicitly designed to boost frontline productivity and safety.

The RealWear developer and partner community can also use Marketplace to advertise their immersive applications to the firm’s end-users. To ensure that each submitted app meets RealWear’s UX standards, developers must undergo a rigorous testing and verification process.

José López Mancha, CEO, Wideum, a RealWear partner noted:

As a RealWear software solution partner, we’re extremely excited about the continued evolution of RealWear App Marketplace. RealWear continues to be the gold standard for industrial strength wearables. By hosting and featuring our apps directly on the marketplace, our customers will be able to discover our apps quickly and get onboarded.  This is good for our customers, and good for our business.

Within its Marketplace, RealWear introduced Connect, an application to assist frontline collaboration across central operations teams, such as dealing with support requests.

Connect users can initiate support calls across devices such as the RealWear Navigator® 520 or HMT-1Z1®, allowing off-site experts to view an operator’s point of view, including AR visualisations.

RealWear Connect also leverages conventional workplace digital communication services, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom, to provide low-latency calls.

Finally, RealWear supports its goals of improving its enterprise-grade digital solutions ecosystem by offering new developer opportunities.

RealWear introduced a new developer toolkit for Cloud, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for managing fleets of the firm’s headsets, allowing the firm’s developer community to design new work opportunities.

The toolkit will boast the RealWear ecosystem of immersive services by enriching developer opportunities with early-access firmware, uploaded applications, community boards, training materials, and code snippets.
