MANILA — Philippine Airlines said it had begun using virtual reality to train its cabin crew to make the exercise more immersive and interactive.

The first batch of trainees started using VR last May. They will be deployed to Airbus A320 and A321 jets, PAL said in a statement.

„While the use of technology in pilot training has evolved tremendously over the past decades, cabin crew training has largely remained unchanged over the years. We are excited to pioneer a truly practical application of VR technology,“ PAL president Jaime Bautista said.

The training program was developed with Veer Immersive Technologies Inc and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), PAL said.
