The Information Technology University (ITU) has launched virtual reality-based classes for immersive learning in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

The experiences will look to replicate the classroom using virtual reality. According to ITU, virtual reality can potentially transform learning experiences for students, and the University sees the technology as transformative for education.

Currently, the University seems bullish on the power of virtual reality in education, but it is not the only high-education institution to be so. Arizona State University, in collaboration with Dreamscape, has also utilized VR in the classroom with VR-based learning experiences for students. Similarly, UK institutions like the University of Nottingham also use the technology.

Overall, virtual reality offers opportunities for universities to use VR in the classroom to improve learning outcomes. Likewise, studies show that virtual reality can also be just as effective in lower levels of education.
